- Oversees assigned planning, environmental, cultural and construction projects and programs for Western Colorado Area Office. - Consults with WCAO Management to coordinate policies and procedures in order to ensure consistency and compatibility with those projects or programs assigned to other division. - Serves as a member of the WCAO leadership council which is organized to provide managerial oversight and direction. - Exercises primary responsibility for water, power, environmental, cultural and fish and wildlife resource program planning, development, and construction activities within the jurisdiction of the WCAO.- In conjunction with the Area Office Public Affairs Officer, plans and directs public information programs related to assigned planning, development and construction program activities associated with the National Environmental Environmental Policy Act, the Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act, the Endangered Species Act. - Deals with unique, complex, and critical issues and must determine direction for major activities within the Technical Services Division.- Develops out year budgets and administers current year budgets for the Technical Service Division. - Performs a full range of supervisory functions for subordinate supervisors and staff. Experience:
Specialized experience must demonstrate the applicant has been equipped with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is directly related to the work to be performed. You must possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-12 level in Federal service. Specialized experience for the GS-13 Experience includes managerial oversight and supervision of water, and power in the following areas:
Providing technical support in the management of project designs and construction. Interpreting and applying laws and regulations in environmental and cultural resource programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.If you do not meet the qualification requirements listed above, you will be determined not qualified for this position.
